Category Specialist – E‑commerce

About the role
The Category Specialist will own the performance of assigned product categories on Florose’s e‑commerce platforms. You will shape assortment, pricing, promotions and stock levels to maximise sales and profitability while delivering a compelling shopping experience.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the commercial performance of designated categories, monitoring sales, margins and inventory.
- Develop and optimise product assortment based on customer demand, seasonality, trends and business goals.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Operations to ensure appropriate stock availability.
- Support pricing strategies, reviewing prices to stay competitive and maintain healthy margins.
- Build and maintain relationships with brands and strategic partners, negotiating contracts and commercial terms.
- Plan and execute category promotions, seasonal campaigns, bundles and special offers together with Marketing.
- Identify best‑selling, slow‑moving and under‑performing items and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis covering products, pricing, promotions and emerging opportunities.
- Assist in sourcing and launching new products and categories aligned with market demand.
- Ensure accurate product presentation on the app and website, including titles, descriptions, images, attributes and pricing.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Procurement, Operations, Content and Technology teams to deliver category initiatives.
- Prepare regular performance reports and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Support forecasting and category planning for key occasions and seasonal peaks.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, E‑commerce or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in category management, preferably in an e‑commerce environment.
- Strong analytical ability and experience interpreting sales and performance data.
- Good understanding of pricing, margins, promotions, assortment and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English.
- Experience in flowers, gifting, beauty, lifestyle or premium retail is a plus.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel for reporting and data analysis.
