CCR Operator – Central Control Room (CCGT)

About the role

The CCR Operator works in the Central Control Room of a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant, monitoring and controlling power generation units to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation. The role requires close coordination with field operators and shift supervisors during routine runs, start‑ups, shutdowns and emergency situations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor units through DCS, SCADA, PLC and related control systems.
• Maintain plant parameters within approved limits and take corrective actions when needed.
• Coordinate with field operators and shift supervisors during all plant phases.
• Identify equipment abnormalities, perform initial troubleshooting and raise maintenance requests.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, shift handover reports and comply with SOPs.
• Support equipment isolation and restoration following LOTO and Permit to Work procedures.
• Monitor performance, contribute to reliability and efficiency improvements.
• Provide on‑the‑job guidance to junior operators.
• Report deviations, incidents and safety concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years experience as a CCR or control‑room operator in a CCGT, thermal power or water desalination plant.
• Proven experience with DCS, SCADA and PLC systems.
• Hands‑on experience in plant start‑up, shutdown, troubleshooting and power generation.
• Strong understanding of HSSE and quality management requirements.
