Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – eCommerce

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑funded e‑commerce startup in Riyadh to hire its first permanent CTO. This is both a build and a management role, responsible for shaping the entire technology direction of a fast‑growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the long‑term technology roadmap.
• Architect modular, API‑first systems that scale across omnichannel retail and e‑commerce operations.
• Design and build proprietary platforms including WMS, OMS, ERP, POS, shipping infrastructure and marketplace middleware.
• Oversee overall architecture and manage all third‑party integrations.
• Recruit, lead and mentor high‑performing engineering and product teams.
• Coordinate internal developers with external agencies and system integrators.
• Drive rapid execution while ensuring stability and high quality.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership.
• Proven track record building proprietary systems for retail, e‑commerce, logistics or warehousing.
• Deep knowledge of WMS, OMS, ERP, POS and inventory architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to create solutions from scratch rather than only configure SaaS tools.
• Experience leading engineering teams in high‑growth environments.
• Builder mentality with strong operational instincts and a bias for execution.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Riyadh.
