CIM Data Modelling & Data Integration Expert – Electric Utility

About the role

Elia Grid International is seeking a highly skilled CIM Data Modelling & Data Integration Expert to support its electric utility clients. The role focuses on defining and managing CIM‑based data models and integration frameworks that enable seamless interoperability between enterprise systems such as GIS, APM, EAM, ADMS and SCADA.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CIM‑based data models for transmission, distribution and generation assets using IEC 61970, IEC 61968 and IEC 62325 standards.
• Lead data integration initiatives between GIS, Maximo/SAP EAM, APM platforms, ADMS, SCADA and data lakes, creating semantic mappings and canonical models.
• Collaborate with asset management teams to ensure data models support condition‑based maintenance, risk‑based planning and outage analysis.
• Define and maintain data dictionaries, mapping specifications and data lineage documentation.
• Support ETL/ELT processes, APIs and real‑time data exchange mechanisms.
• Advise on data governance, data quality and master data management to preserve asset data integrity.
• Facilitate workshops with business and IT stakeholders to align on CIM model adaptations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the electric utility sector, with at least 3 years working with CIM standards and data modelling.
• Proven experience with asset management systems such as IBM Maximo or SAP EAM.
• Hands‑on experience integrating GIS (ESRI, Smallworld), APM platforms (IBM, GE, ABB), ADMS, SCADA and data warehouses.
