Clinical Applications Specialist – Ophthalmology (Middle East)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Clinical Applications Specialist in ophthalmology to support hospitals and clinics across the Middle East from a base in Jeddah. You will train healthcare professionals, ensure safe use of Alcon’s cataract and refractive surgical devices, and act as the technical liaison between the company and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote technical and clinical training to surgeons and operating‑room staff on Alcon’s approved devices.
• Respond to customer inquiries with accurate scientific and technical information, escalating unapproved use questions per protocol.
• Implement equipment and software upgrades, support new installations, and troubleshoot devices together with Field Service Engineers.
• Document site visits, report adverse events and device deficiencies, and collaborate on root‑cause analyses.
• Participate in medical congresses, conferences, wet‑labs, and product demonstrations as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (advanced healthcare education is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical or medical‑device environment.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• Strong clinical background in ophthalmology and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Willingness to travel up to 50 % domestically and internationally.
