Clinical Educator

About the role

The Clinical Educator will support nursing staff by delivering classroom and bedside teaching, assessing competencies, and fostering continuous professional development. This role works closely with senior educators to ensure high‑quality patient care education aligned with the hospital’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual teaching and competency assessment for staff facing challenges in clinical or classroom settings.
• Collaborate on the design, implementation, and evaluation of unit orientation programs.
• Serve as a mentor and educational resource for Clinical Nursing Instructors and other team members.
• Develop and maintain clinical education resources and curricula.
• Apply adult‑learning principles to identify learning needs and plan appropriate activities.
• Facilitate reflective practice and encourage staff to evaluate their own performance.
• Conduct training‑needs analyses and coordinate in‑service, orientation, and continuing‑education courses.
• Promote evidence‑based practice and ensure documentation meets accreditation standards.
• Assist in creating an annual nursing education calendar and support professional‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or equivalent with experience in clinical education.
• Strong ability to assess and develop staff competencies.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
• Familiarity with adult‑learning theory and curriculum development.
• Collaborative mindset to work with senior educators and clinical managers.
