Cloud Solutions Architect (AWS)

About the role

Devoteam is hiring a Cloud Solutions Architect (AWS) in Riyadh, a senior technical lead who oversees AWS migration and transformation projects. The role supervises delivery teams, sets technical direction, reviews and signs off designs and deliverables, and steps in when teams face technical problems they cannot solve on their own. You will work with delivery engineers, project managers, client stakeholders, AWS and third-party vendors, holding work to AWS best practice and the client's security and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Migration oversight: lead cloud migration activities, review assessments, wave plans and approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor and the other 7 Rs), and review cutover, rollback and hypercare plans before each wave
• Design and deliverable review: approve HLDs, LLDs, architecture diagrams and standards, and check landing zones, runbooks, test plans and handover docs against the AWS Well-Architected Framework and security and regulatory controls
• Technical guidance: advise on account structure, network and hybrid connectivity, identity, backup and disaster recovery, and tooling, and coach engineers through design reviews
• Stakeholder and vendor collaboration: represent the technical position in steering and status meetings, act as escalation point for technical disagreements, and support pre-sales with solution reviews
• Technical governance: support design reviews and decision-making, keep records of key decisions, contribute to practice templates and standards, and support pre-sales proposals

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure or IT consulting, including at least 4 years on AWS
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• Experience leading technical delivery of enterprise migrations to AWS and reviewing and approving designs and deliverables
• Strong written and spoken English, and Arabic language skills
• Preferred: AWS Specialty certifications (Security, Advanced Networking) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional; knowledge of Saudi regulatory frameworks (NCA ECC/CCC, SAMA CSF, PDPL); experience with disaster recovery and business continuity designs; multi-cloud exposure (Google Cloud, Azure); consulting experience with government, banking, energy or telecom clients in KSA or the GCC

Required skills

• Broad knowledge of AWS services across compute, storage, databases, networking, identity and security
• Good understanding of migration methods, tooling and landing zone concepts
• Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices
• Experience managing technical risks and working with vendors and client stakeholders
