Commercial Department Manager

About the role

The Commercial Department Manager leads the daily operations of the Marks & Spencer store in Dammam, ensuring excellent sales performance and customer service within the food and hospitality sector. The role combines strategic planning of people resources, optimal stock management, and cost control to meet sales targets and drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing and activities to deliver the sales plan and maintain optimal stock levels throughout the trading day.
• Oversee deliveries, FIFO processes, and planogram implementation to ensure accurate shelf availability.
• Ensure all service zones, tills and key areas are properly resourced and address customer queries, concerns and complaints.
• Model and enforce service behaviours such as positivity, determination, ownership and respect.
• Maintain trading standards, hygiene, and compliance paperwork, including locker checks for dual‑control compliance.
• Communicate with teams through briefs and huddles, provide regular feedback, and recognize excellent performance.
• Analyse engagement survey scores and drive improvements in team dynamics.
• Plan and allocate staffing resources within budget constraints to support profitability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing retail or hospitality operations with a focus on sales and customer service.
• Strong ability to coordinate people resources, stock management and compliance activities.
• Excellent communication skills for briefings, huddles and feedback delivery.
• Capability to analyse performance data and act on engagement survey results.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control and profitability planning.
