Commercial Manager – Grocery

About the role

The Commercial Manager – Grocery will lead the development and execution of category strategies for grocery products, aiming to boost sales, margin and customer satisfaction across the retail network.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement commercial strategies to achieve sales, margin, market share and growth targets for grocery categories.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate agreements and joint business plans.
• Optimize assortment, pricing and promotional plans to improve category performance.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to uncover growth opportunities.
• Analyse sales, profitability, stock levels and KPIs to support data‑driven decisions.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, operations, marketing and store teams to ensure product availability and successful execution.
• Develop strategic supplier partnerships while ensuring quality, compliance and cost efficiency.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing grocery categories in retail, hypermarket, supermarket, e‑commerce or FMCG environments.
• Strong knowledge of packaged food, beverages, household and grocery market dynamics.
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations, commercial planning and category management.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
