Commis – Food Preparation (Full-time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join our kitchen team at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts on Ummahat Island, Red Sea. The role involves supporting chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble cold and hot foods, operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality and ensure presentation standards are met.
• Set‑up and break‑down work stations, serve food in proper portions and maintain hygiene of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, follow safety and security policies, and report any hazards.
• Collaborate with team members, communicate clearly and uphold professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation or a similar kitchen role.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
