Commis (Food Preparation) – Full‑Time

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join our kitchen team at the Ritz‑Carlton property on Ummahat Islands. The role is full‑time and focuses on preparing high‑quality food in a fast‑paced, luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes, both hot and cold, following quality, presentation and safety standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food temperature and quality, conduct taste tests and adjust as needed.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions and maintain clean, sanitized work areas.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures and report any maintenance or safety issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation or a similar kitchen role.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to work in a team‑oriented, multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Operation of kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
