Commissioning Loop Checks Coordinator

About the role

The Commissioning Loop Checks Coordinator carries out functional loop checks and interlock / sequence checks in line with quality requirements, health, environmental and safety regulations and the stated procedures. The person reports to the commissioning control system superintendent and is assigned to the project by the AVIMP head of department. The work is on a rotational basis of 60 days on site, 10 days off (paid) and 2 days travelling (paid), at 10 hours per day including a 1-hour break.

Key responsibilities

• Cooperate with the subcontractor and supervise the preparation of loop folders before the activity starts.
• Ensure that all functional loop check (FLC) operations follow the proper documentation flow and are executed on time.
• Record daily progress of the FLC and make it available to management, QA/QC and the planner.
• Act on deviations between actual and scheduled progress with management.
• Plan daily activities from the list of loops ready to test, according to manpower availability and commissioning priorities.
• Manage instrument repairs and recalibration with the troubleshooting team.
• Record major problems requiring the construction subcontractor (e.g. cable pulling, instrument relocation).
• Prepare test forms, ensure certificates are signed and handed over to the certification engineer (QA/QC).
• Coordinate with the electrical commissioning supervisor, record changes in the master drawings (as-built) and follow up on PMC/client signatures.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in instrumentation control or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of experience in HSE on commissioning projects or operations in oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
• Relevant experience on three major EPC projects in the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors.
