Communication (COM) Supervisor

About the role

The Communication (COM) Supervisor supports the COM & SCADA Manager in prioritising workloads, ensuring asset safety, reliability and regulatory compliance across rail and transportation systems. The role combines technical oversight, maintenance planning and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to meet operational and safety demands.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight for asset maintenance, predictive and condition‑based maintenance of COM & SCADA systems.
• Plan and execute maintenance and repair activities according to work plans and manuals.
• Ensure quality standards are upheld during all maintenance tasks.
• Support hiring, training and performance assessment of maintenance staff.
• Assist in root‑cause analysis, incident reporting and change‑management reviews.
• Create, review and approve maintenance documentation, design drawings and safety briefs.
• Supervise complex maintenance activities performed by internal teams or subcontractors.
• Review CMMS logs to verify best‑practice adherence.
• Deputise for the COM & SCADA Manager or Head of Transit Systems as required.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma (minimum); Engineering degree preferred.
• Lean or Six Sigma knowledge desirable.
• At least 5 years of system experience in rail, aviation or transportation.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience creating Bills of Materials, supporting procurement and tender processes.
