Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Compliance Specialist will support the organization’s adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards within a regulated utilities environment. You will work across multiple business units to monitor controls, identify risks, and ensure continuous compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with energy, water, and gas regulator requirements across assigned units.
• Conduct periodic compliance reviews and internal control assessments.
• Identify, assess, and document compliance risks and help develop mitigation plans.
• Support the implementation and improvement of the compliance framework, policies, and procedures.
• Review and validate internal policies, procedures, and operational practices for regulatory alignment.
• Coordinate with Operations, Technical Services, Corporate Services, and other stakeholders to close compliance gaps.
• Prepare and maintain compliance reports, dashboards, and documentation for management, internal audit, and regulators.
• Track regulatory changes, assess impact, and support required actions.
• Assist internal and external auditors by providing documentation and evidence.
• Promote compliance awareness through training, communication, and guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, risk registers, and control assessments.
• Escalate non‑compliance issues, control weaknesses, and regulatory risks to management.
• Uphold corporate governance principles, including confidentiality, integrity, and ethical conduct.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Professional certification in compliance, risk, or audit (e.g., CCEP) is a plus but not mandatory.
