Consultant Physician

About the role

The Consultant Physician provides comprehensive assessment and management of patients in accordance with evidence‑based standards of care and Fakeeh Care policies. This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality clinical services, overseeing inpatient care, and ensuring timely documentation and discharge planning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties within assigned privileges, including thorough socioeconomic, psychological and functional patient assessments.
• Develop and document evidence‑based care plans in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Act as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for inpatients, creating discharge plans on admission and coordinating with discharge‑planning services.
• Conduct daily inpatient assessments, record progress notes using the SOAP format, and respond promptly to medical consultations.
• Complete and authenticate discharge summaries, provide discharge instructions and medication education.
• Participate in departmental meetings, teaching rounds, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain strict confidentiality, adhere to safety and cybersecurity protocols, and follow Fakeeh Care documentation standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree with appropriate clinical privileges for the assigned specialty.
• Experience in inpatient management and discharge planning.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and patient‑centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
• Competence in writing SOAP‑format progress notes.
• Knowledge of hospital discharge processes and patient education.
