Contract Specialist

About the role

The Contract Specialist will support Hatch and Ma'aden in delivering major mining and infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on the development, negotiation, and administration of EPCM contracts, ensuring commercial effectiveness and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support contracting strategies and tendering activities for EPCM projects.
• Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer construction and service contracts.
• Manage bidder pre‑qualification, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
• Coordinate contract changes, variations, claims, and close‑out activities.
• Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
• Maintain contract records, reporting, and contract management systems.
• Collaborate with procurement, legal, project controls, and project teams to manage contractual risks and commercial matters.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience in EPCM, mining, industrial or major capital projects.
• Strong background in contract drafting, negotiation and administration.
• Knowledge of commercial terms, contract risk management and procurement processes.
• Familiarity with FIDIC and other industry‑standard contract forms.
• Understanding of Saudi contracting practices and local content requirements; Arabic is an asset.
