Control and Automation Engineer

About the role

The Control & Automation Engineer designs, operates, maintains, and optimizes industrial control systems to ensure safe and reliable plant performance. You will work on PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, BMS/IBMS, and associated instrumentation, supporting both preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and automation systems.
• Develop, modify, and debug PLC programs, control logic, sequences, and HMI interfaces.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on sensors, transmitters, actuators, control valves, relays, VFDs, and instrumentation.
• Review and interpret electrical and control drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, single‑line diagrams, I/O lists, and cause‑and‑effect diagrams.
• Test, commission, and document automation and control systems, supporting upgrades and new projects.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, IT, and other engineering teams during troubleshooting and project execution.
• Monitor system performance, identify automation improvement opportunities, and ensure compliance with IEC, NFPA, ISA, and company standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Control, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in industrial automation, electrical systems, instrumentation, or maintenance.
• Professional proficiency in English and fluent Arabic.
• Knowledge of IEC, NFPA, ISA, and related safety/engineering standards.

Required skills

• PLC programming & troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi).
• SCADA, HMI, DCS, BMS/IBMS systems.
• Industrial communication protocols: Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, Ethernet/IP, BACnet, OPC.
• Instrumentation, VFDs, control panels, and electrical drawing interpretation.
• Testing, commissioning, and control‑system diagnostics.
