Controls & Governance Consultant

About the role

The Controls & Governance Consultant will act as the primary first‑line control point for the cards function within a leading retail bank. You will ensure operational discipline, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across all card‑related processes and partner interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee governance controls, enforce internal policies, and validate partner and vendor deliverables.
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cards processes, audit marketing and product materials, and review contracts before leadership submission.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of information across customer‑facing channels, including digital platforms and applications.
• Support the Head of Cards in governance activities, collaborate with product, marketing, operations, compliance, and vendor teams, and drive corrective actions.
• Monitor regulatory and contractual compliance, highlight operational risks, and support audit readiness and governance reporting.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of experience in governance, controls, compliance, or operational risk.
• Strong background in banking, cards, or financial services.
• Proven experience reviewing contracts, vendor reports, and operational documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail with a structured, analytical approach.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
