Corrosion Engineer – Pipe Products Development

About the role

The Corrosion Engineer will develop corrosion‑resistant pipe products for OCTG, line pipe, geothermal, hydrogen transportation, and carbon capture applications. The role combines material evaluation, innovative anti‑corrosion design, performance optimisation, and cross‑functional collaboration to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise corrosion‑resistant solutions for OCTG and line pipe applications.
• Collaborate with metallurgy engineers to design steel alloys tailored to oil & gas, geothermal, hydrogen, and carbon capture sectors.
• Evaluate material performance under corrosive conditions and conduct laboratory tests in line with NACE 175 or ISO 16165 standards.
• Oversee testing protocols to verify compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor production processes, including clean steel production for sour and corrosion‑critical applications, ensuring design specifications and quality standards are met.
• Lead initiatives that incorporate emerging technologies to stay ahead of corrosion trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Corrosion Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in corrosion engineering, materials selection, or failure analysis, preferably in oil & gas, energy, or manufacturing environments.
