Cost Accountant – Financial & Cost Management

About the role

The Cost Accountant will support a non‑profit organization by managing cost accounting, preparing accurate reports, and providing insights that drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze actual production costs and compare them with standard costs.
• Prepare periodic cost statements, landed‑cost sheets for foreign purchase orders, and profitability analyses.
• Monitor inventory transactions, reconcile accounts with the general ledger, and manage monthly journal entries.
• Lead inventory review processes and develop monthly financial and operational reports for executive leadership.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, recommend efficiencies in product layouts, and support pricing decisions.
• Perform monthly closing activities related to cost accounting, including cost statements and variance analysis.
• Manage insurance files (PAR) and related monthly declarations.
• Initiate, plan, execute, and close projects, establishing metrics and measurement systems.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent analytical ability to collect, monitor, and interpret data from multiple sources.
• Organizational and planning skills to manage short‑ and long‑term objectives.
• Ability to work effectively within NFP policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in using standard office automation systems and accounting software.
