Cost Controller – Project Cost Management

About the role

The Cost Controller will ensure that all project cost‑control activities are performed in line with company policies and procedures. You will analyse budgets, verify invoices, manage variations, and support the project team in achieving cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost‑control systems, interfacing with ERP teams during set‑up and troubleshooting.
• Monitor total project expenditure, verify invoices, claims, and ensure accurate recording of all costs.
• Track workforce man‑hours, material consumption, equipment usage, and general expenses across all stakeholders.
• Manage changes in scope of work, client variations, and revised budgets; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Prepare project invoices, follow up on payments, and upload cost data to the project management software.
• Update project budgets, margins, and compare actual costs against baseline.
• Negotiate change‑order prices, manage amended contracts, and assess commercial risks.
• Support monthly accruals with documentation and ensure timely conversion of outstanding costs to actuals.
• Generate variance and exception reports, present findings to the Project Manager, and participate in review meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with commercial insight.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and lead when required.
• Excellent attention to detail and rule consciousness.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Primavera P6 (preferred).
• Understanding of ERP systems and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with cost‑control methodologies and project budgeting.
