Cost Engineer - Upstream (Saudi Arabia)

About the role

Eram Talent is looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to handle project management activities for the Upstream Unconventional Resources in Saudi Arabia. The role provides a complete cost engineering service to the team, covering large, complex projects with a global reach, and requires prior experience in upstream oil and gas, midstream, LNG, refining and petrochemicals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide all cost engineering expertise and coordinate activities as group/unit leader as required
• Prepare the cost portion of engineering, procurement and construction contracts
• Collect, monitor, analyze and report cost information through the Project Manager, and prepare reports on cost utilization for management
• Review and analyze claims and change orders on project contracts
• Take part in negotiating project contracts and review the cost portion of EPC contracts
• Act when the total forecast shows allocated funds will be exceeded
• Assist other project support team members with cost reviews
• Mentor and motivate young Saudi engineers, and promote continuous improvement of business processes
• Stay up to date with cost engineering developments through technical literature, contractor contacts, site visits and professional meetings

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Economics, Business Administration, MIS, Accounting or a closely related field
• At least 12 years of cost engineering experience, including at least 5 years on petrochemical, refinery, pipeline or power generation projects
• Familiarity with construction practices, materials and equipment
• Strong interpersonal, creative problem-solving and technical writing skills
• Knowledge of international standards and familiarity with Aramco standards, especially in civil, mechanical and piping disciplines
