Cost Estimator / Estimation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Cost Estimator / Estimation Engineer to join a fast‑growing advertising agency that specialises in signage, branding, events, exhibitions, fabrication and interior fit‑out. The role involves producing accurate project cost estimates by reviewing drawings, BOQs and specifications and collaborating with sales, design, production and procurement teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review project drawings, BOQs, specifications and client requirements to develop detailed cost sheets for exhibitions, booths, signage and fit‑out projects.
• Calculate quantities for materials, fabrication, installation, transportation, labour, equipment and subcontracted works.
• Obtain, evaluate and compare quotations from suppliers, subcontractors and fabricators.
• Prepare cost breakdowns, apply appropriate mark‑ups, overheads, profit margins and contingencies, and produce final pricing sheets for the commercial team.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to clarify requirements, identify cost implications and ensure accurate pricing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
• 3‑5 years of experience in estimation, costing or quantity surveying within events, exhibitions, signage, advertising or fit‑out industries.
• Strong numerical, analytical and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including formulas and costing spreadsheets.
• Interpretation of technical drawings, layouts and specifications.
• Quantity take‑offs and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) preparation.
• Knowledge of materials such as MDF, plywood, acrylic, aluminium, PVC, digital printing, lighting, electrical works, carpentry and metal fabrication.
• Evaluation of supplier and subcontractor quotations.
