Customer Solution Design Engineer (MP)

About the role

KONE is looking for an energetic Customer Solution Design Engineer (MP) to join its early engagement team in Riyadh. The role bridges the sales and technical functions, translating customer requirements into optimal KONE elevator, escalator and door solutions and ensuring seamless integration with building specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Read, sort and analyse customer drawings, raise RFIs when conflicts arise with KONE commitments.
• Create accurate 2D layout drawings and 3D BIM models that comply with customer document control procedures and KONE standards.
• Collaborate with sales to identify optimal technical solutions, select the correct product platform and propose offerings across all KONE business lines.
• Participate in customer meetings, answer technical questions and ensure final KONE drawings align with IFC and SL layout drawings.
• Provide technical training to sales, installation and maintenance teams and contribute input to product offering management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the elevator business or a related technical field.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, with strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Good understanding of building types, sustainability norms and local regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and BIM tools, especially AutoCAD, Revit 2022 and BIM360.
• Ability to produce detailed 2D shop drawings and 3D models.
• Basic knowledge of competitor products and product costing.
