Cyber Security Architect – Telecom

About the role
Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Cyber Security Architect to join large‑scale telecom transformation programmes. You will design and secure next‑generation telecom infrastructures, enabling critical use cases such as Mission Critical Communications, Public Safety Networks, Non‑Terrestrial Networks and Industrial IoT.
Key responsibilities
- Design end‑to‑end security architectures for telecom and cloud environments covering SIM/eSIM, devices, RAN, transport, EPC/5G Core, IMS, MCx, OSS and BSS.
- Develop and implement security frameworks aligned with 3GPP, GSMA, ETSI, NIST, ISO 27001 and industry best practices (Zero Trust, Defense‑in‑Depth, Adaptive Security).
- Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments and vulnerability analysis for telecom networks.
- Evaluate, recommend and validate security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, PKI, HSM, PAM, EDR, SIEM and SOAR.
- Produce high‑quality architecture artefacts (HLDs, LLDs, guidelines, procedures) and collaborate with solution architects and integration teams.
- Lead workshops and present security strategies to technical and executive stakeholders.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or Telecommunications.
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in telecom environments.
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, CISSP, ISSAP or CCSP are a plus.
Required skills
- 4G/5G security standards (3GPP TS33.x, TS33501), GSMA, ETSI, NIST, ISO 27001.
- Security of RAN, transport (MPLS, IP, BGP), cloud (OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, VMware).
- EPC/5G Core components (AMF, SMF, UDM, NRF, AUSF, NEF) and IMS/MCx security.
- Threat modelling, risk assessment, vulnerability analysis.
- Security technologies: firewalls, IDS/IPS, PKI, HSM, PAM, EDR, SIEM, SOAR.
- Security architecture models: Zero Trust, Defense‑in‑Depth, Adaptive Security.
