Cyber Simulation Exercises Scenario Developer

About the role

The Cyber Simulation Exercises Scenario Developer designs and delivers large‑scale cybersecurity training exercises, such as Threat Hunting Events, Live‑Fire drills, and Capture‑the‑Flag challenges. Working on a cyber‑range platform, you will create realistic scenarios, injects, and supporting lab infrastructure to enable measurable, repeatable training for diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end cyber‑simulation exercises aligned with capability‑uplift goals, translating learning objectives into engaging storylines and measurable outcomes.
• Produce complete exercise packages, including facilitator guides, participant instructions, runbooks, timelines, scoring rubrics, and debrief materials.
• Create and orchestrate technical and non‑technical injects, managing timing, escalation paths, and branching logic based on participant actions.
• Build and configure lab environments (networks, endpoints, servers, identity services) and integrate security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS, email security, and vulnerability scanners.
• Support dry runs, pilot sessions, and live execution, troubleshooting technical issues and providing clear runbooks for facilitators.
• Define KPIs, capture telemetry, produce post‑exercise reports, and recommend improvements for future content and processes.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of current threat landscape and enterprise environments (Windows, Linux, AD, cloud, endpoints).
• Experience designing multi‑track training scenarios for IT, SOC, incident commanders, and executive audiences.
• Ability to translate technical objectives into compelling narratives and measurable outcomes.
