Design Engineer – Contract Projects

About the role

Lucy Electric is seeking a motivated Design Engineer to provide local real‑time support for contract engineering projects. Based in Dammam, you will act as the technical bridge between customers, sales, and the engineering team, delivering detailed designs, drawings and Bills of Material for switchgear products.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales, Contracts, Engineering and global Operations to meet customer requirements within schedule and budget.
• Interpret client specifications and produce detailed 3D CAD designs using the Lucy CAD system.
• Issue contract drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and BOMs to factories and customers.
• Develop secondary designs and prototype new features for switchgear products when standard configurator solutions are insufficient.
• Provide on‑site technical support, demonstrate products, and respond to customer queries during inspections.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and company health & safety policies.
• Contribute to achieving the annual sales target through effective engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in a similar design engineering role.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality management and innovation.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with cultural awareness.
• Self‑starter attitude and curiosity for learning.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling (Lucy CAD system).
• Creation of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Generation of Bills of Material (BOM).
• Knowledge of switchgear product design.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards.
