Design Manager

About the role

The Design Manager will be based in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, supporting the PMC Senior Project Managers on a range of development projects (RIBA Stages 1‑4). The role involves overseeing client‑appointed Lead Design Consultants (LDC) and ensuring design deliverables align with project objectives, budgets and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare scope of works for tender documentation, considering existing framework agreements and project briefs.
• Oversee LDC activities, coordinate design stages, monitor progress, and manage client and statutory approvals.
• Lead design review processes, compile stage gateway reports and ensure compliance with quality, HSE and design brief requirements.
• Manage change control, evaluate design modifications, and assess impacts on time, cost and quality.
• Assist in cost management, value engineering and constructability studies in collaboration with cost consultants.
• Facilitate design coordination, planning and scheduling in line with agreed procedures.

Required profile

• Structured, systematic and disciplined working approach.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• Proven experience overseeing design consultants on construction projects up to RIBA Stage 4.
• Strong understanding of design change management and cost control processes.
