Director of Events

About the role

The Director of Events leads the strategic planning, sales coordination, execution, and overall management of all events hosted within the hotel. This senior position ensures exceptional guest experiences, drives revenue, and upholds Capella’s luxury hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the hotel’s event strategy to maximize revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
• Lead the Events team, set annual goals, budgets, forecasts, and performance objectives.
• Innovate event concepts, monitor market trends, and identify new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and key stakeholders.
• Oversee end‑to‑end planning and execution of corporate meetings, weddings, VIP events, and bespoke experiences.
• Coordinate with Sales, Catering, F&B, Culinary, Rooms Division and other departments for flawless delivery.
• Monitor event quality standards, manage budgets, costs, and labor expenses.
• Act as primary escalation point for event‑related concerns and guest issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Event Management or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in luxury hospitality, event management or catering operations.
• Experience with international luxury hotel brands is preferred.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
