Director of Rooms – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Director of Rooms will lead the pre‑opening set‑up and ongoing operations of the Rooms Division for a new luxury hotel. Reporting to the General Manager, this senior leader will embed Raffles brand standards, build high‑performing teams and design exceptional guest journeys.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute the pre‑opening of Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Concierge, Butler service and related functions.
• Recruit, train and develop teams to deliver Raffles‑level service.
• Establish financial controls, budgeting, forecasting and cost‑management for the Rooms Division.
• Drive performance against Forbes Travel Guide, LQA and internal brand standards.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management, Sales and Marketing on pricing and market positioning.
• Monitor guest feedback, audit results and financial performance to implement continuous‑improvement action plans.
• Maintain labour productivity and operational KPIs while balancing service excellence with financial discipline.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in luxury hotel rooms division, preferably with pre‑opening exposure.
• Strong brand stewardship and ability to act as a visible ambassador for the property.
• Excellent emotional intelligence and guest‑centric mindset.
• Track record of delivering operational efficiency and financial results.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into clear goals and measurable outcomes.
