Director, Solution Architect

About the role

Mastercard's Customer Solutions Center develops better solutions and bundles for prioritized customer segments in a given market, acting as the hub for Mastercard's capabilities in that geography. The Solution Architect is the main partner to the frontline team during solutioning, curating and aggregating products to help Account Managers and Directors deliver complex, multi-product and multi-platform solutions. The role reports to the Customer Solutions Center Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a Master Accountabilities (MA) capabilities expert for an assigned segment: understand its value chain, trends, needs and opportunities, and collaborate with frontline teams to recommend needs-based solutions in line with product, service and marketing strategy.
• Lead complex value propositions and solutions from pitch to closure, including customised combinations of products, services or platforms, and help choose the right solutioning squad for each opportunity or RFP.
• Work with Account Managers and Business Development to quantify the value of integrated, customised solutions, and iterate with frontline teams on proposals.
• Develop business requirements documents with product specialists and the technical architect, and engage other Solution Architects and experts across the Customer Solutions Center as needed.
• Create and bundle solutions that address known market pain points, and identify external partners such as fintechs when internal capabilities are missing.
• Share best practices with the Solution Architect community and give input to product and segment leads to improve strategy.

Required profile

• Deep understanding and experience of product development, product management, consumer experience and problem solving.
• Good understanding of Mastercard products and services, and of technical basics, APIs and process flows.
• Able to architect integrated solutions by combining Mastercard's products and services to meet customer strategic needs, with deep knowledge of which solutions work in which environments.
• Collaborative, highly communicative and able to rally internal stakeholders behind proposed solutions.
• Proven ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data and turn it into recommendations.
