DPA Manager – QHSE & Safety

About the role

The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) Manager leads the company’s QHSE and Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, client contracts, and internal policies. Acting as the bridge between shore management and vessel operations, the role promotes a strong safety culture and maintains the Document of Compliance (DOC).

Key responsibilities

• Lead and monitor QHSE performance across the department and direct reports.
• Maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS) in line with the DOC, client requirements, and maritime standards.
• Oversee annual DOC renewal, audit preparation, and compliance protocols.
• Supervise the QHSSE department at Tanajib, ensuring effective policy implementation.
• Stay current with IMO, Class, and client‑specific regulations and integrate changes promptly.
• Develop and maintain QHSE manuals, SMS, and Maritime Operational Manuals.
• Act as the company’s Quality Administrator, ensuring adherence to client expectations and international legislation.
• Provide practical systems and procedures for offshore vessels, managing risks to ALARP.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
• Valid Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (COC).
• Minimum 8 years of maritime experience, including at least 4 years offshore as a Captain.
• Proven managerial and supervisory experience in a marine or QHSE environment.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of IMO regulations.
• Understanding of Class society requirements.
• Expertise in Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Document of Compliance (DOC) processes.
