Drilling Assistant – Offsider

About the role

The Drilling Assistant – Offsider supports the drilling crew in daily rig operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of tasks on site. This position offers hands‑on experience for individuals looking to build a career in the drilling industry.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the crew with routine rig operations such as mud preparation, casing handling and equipment hoisting.
• Support safety protocols, attend pre‑shift briefings and report any hazards or incidents.
• Monitor equipment condition and communicate maintenance needs to supervisors.
• Collect and record drilling data, measurements and material quantities.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and organize the rig floor and work areas.
• Load, unload and transport supplies and equipment on site.
• Coordinate with toolpushers and supervisors to ensure efficient task execution.
• Follow standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in drilling operations or a related field.
• Basic understanding of drilling rigs, equipment and safety practices.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work rotating shift schedules.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in drilling is a plus.
• Strong physical stamina for demanding outdoor environments.
