Drilling Supervisor

About the role

The Drilling Supervisor will lead and safely manage drilling operations for a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the Drilling Operations Department, the role ensures that all drilling activities meet operational requirements, safety standards, and production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily drilling crews, rig performance, and site workflows.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate drilling activities according to approved programs.
• Oversee site preparation, drill pad construction, and access road readiness.
• Monitor drilling progress, penetration rates, core recovery, and consumable usage.
• Coordinate with geologists on drill collar locations, orientations, and target depths.
• Ensure regular inspection, maintenance, and servicing of all drilling equipment.
• Lead daily toolbox meetings, shift briefings, and safety discussions.
• Review and approve drilling reports, logs, and production data.
• Manage workforce allocation, shift schedules, and contractor performance.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and operational issues while enforcing HSE policies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements on site.
• Control operational costs and monitor drilling consumables usage.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to crews.
• Maintain communication with management regarding site performance and issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
• Develop, mentor, and train local workforce and junior staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on drilling operations experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; fluency in English is mandatory.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
• Ability to develop and mentor local workforce and junior staff.
