ED III Civil/Structural Designer

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced ED III Civil/Structural Designer to join its Al‑Khobar office. You will be responsible for producing high‑quality engineering drawings and detailed designs for commercial, industrial and civil projects, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings from sketches or general design information using CAD/CADD software.
• Create detailed plans, layouts, calculations and bills of material for structures and plant systems.
• Develop working drawings that meet company, client and regulatory codes.
• Establish and monitor drafting standards, ensuring technical accuracy.
• Identify cost‑effective design solutions and assist in bid evaluations.
• Generate estimates of time, material and labour for testing, installation and construction.
• Coordinate small projects, review peer work and conduct site visits to provide input for reports.

Required profile

• Proven ability to handle complex technical assignments in civil/structural design.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in drawings and documentation.
• Experience preparing specifications, estimates and bill of materials.
• Capability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑aided drafting (CAD) software.
• Experience using computer‑aided design and drafting (CADD) tools.
