Electrical Lead Technician – Engineering

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Lead Technician to join the engineering team at Jumeirah Jabal Omar, a luxury 5‑star hotel in the heart of Mecca. The successful candidate will lead daily electrical operations, ensure preventive and corrective maintenance, and respond to emergencies across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Electrical Engineering team in daily operations, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and emergency response.
• Carry out and supervise PPM of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, electrical panels and associated distribution systems.
• Coordinate specialist contractors during planned maintenance, testing, inspection and commissioning of switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, ATS and other critical equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections and PPM of all hotel electrical panels, including guest rooms, residences, front‑of‑house, back‑of‑house, plant rooms, kitchens, retail and common areas.
• Prepare and monitor Hotel HLP and Retail HLP readings, investigate abnormal consumption and report significant variations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of single‑line diagrams, electrical layouts, panel schedules, cable routes and distribution systems to support effective troubleshooting.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a team‑leader or senior‑technician role within a luxury hotel or large commercial facility.
• Strong practical experience with MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, generators, ATS and UPS.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical distribution systems and the ability to read and interpret single‑line diagrams and panel schedules.
