Emergency Medical Specialist

About the role

The Emergency Medical Specialist provides critical care support under physician direction, responding to emergency calls, managing resuscitation, and ensuring safe patient transport. This role is essential for delivering rapid, high‑quality medical care within the KFUPM Medical Center network.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to RRT and Code Blue calls, assess patients, and make immediate care decisions with physician guidance.
• Perform CPR, emergency airway procedures, and advanced life support interventions.
• Administer medications, pain relief, and intravenous infusions as directed.
• Conduct patient triage, record vital signs, provide oxygen therapy, and operate cardiac and blood pressure monitoring equipment.
• Obtain 12‑lead ECGs, insert IV lines, use bag‑valve‑mask devices and external defibrillators.
• Manage patient transport to other facilities while maintaining ongoing treatment.
• Maintain ambulance medical supply inventory and complete daily checklist.
• Oversee sterilisation and disinfection of the ambulance after infectious‑disease cases.
• Document all patient interactions and adhere to medical centre policies.
