Engineering Manager – Utilities (Poultry Processing Plant)

About the role

Almarai is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Utilities to lead utility operations at a high‑volume poultry processing plant. The role ensures reliable, efficient, and cost‑effective delivery of steam, refrigeration, water, compressed air and other utilities to support continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Utilities & Maintenance team to guarantee uninterrupted plant operations.
• Oversee operation, maintenance and optimisation of power distribution, ammonia refrigeration, boilers & steam, air compressors, water and effluent treatment, HVAC and cooling systems.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM/PPM) plans for all utility equipment.
• Monitor energy consumption, control utility costs and manage OPEX & CAPEX budgets.
• Lead engineering projects, upgrades, modifications and new installations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and food‑safety standards.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis, drive corrective actions and continuous‑improvement initiatives (Lean, TPM, Six Sigma).
• Develop and train engineering staff to build team capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 + years of experience in utilities/maintenance within food manufacturing, poultry or FMCG processing plants.
• Strong hands‑on experience with industrial utilities systems.
• Proven experience managing maintenance teams and plant operations.
• Knowledge of Lean, TPM or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with SAP PM or similar maintenance systems.
