Environmental & Sustainability Superintendent

About the role

The Environmental & Sustainability Superintendent leads the company’s environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across all operations. This senior position combines technical expertise, regulatory oversight, and team leadership to protect natural resources and ensure adherence to local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Saudi environmental regulations and ISO 14001 standards, managing permits, licenses, and approvals.
• Implement, maintain, and audit the Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001.
• Monitor air emissions, water discharge, and waste streams; prepare monthly, annual, and regulatory reports.
• Develop spill prevention plans, lead incident response, and conduct root‑cause investigations.
• Oversee hazardous and non‑hazardous waste handling, produced water treatment, and pollution‑prevention initiatives.
• Identify environmental risks in drilling, production, and pipeline activities; conduct Environmental Impact Assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
• Engage with internal departments, regulators, and community stakeholders to communicate environmental performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of environmental experience in the oil & gas sector.
• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
• NEBOSH Environmental Certificate and other relevant HSE qualifications.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex regulatory projects.
