External Audit Supervisor

About the role

A leading professional services firm in Riyadh is looking for an experienced External Audit Supervisor to join its Audit & Assurance team. The role oversees audit engagements, reviews financial statements and supporting documentation, and ensures compliance with international auditing and financial reporting standards. The position is full-time, based in Riyadh, with an estimated salary of SAR 16,000 to 22,000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise external audit engagements from initial planning through completion.
• Review audit working papers, financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead, coach and mentor audit team members to maintain high-quality deliverables.
• Establish and maintain strong client relationships throughout audit assignments.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Coordinate with internal teams and management to finish audits within agreed deadlines.
• Identify audit risks, evaluate findings and support the preparation of audit reports.
• Maintain professional standards and ensure audit documentation meets applicable requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive external audit experience within a recognised audit firm; Big Four experience is highly preferred.
• SOCPA, CPA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, ISA, external audit procedures, financial statement reviews and audit documentation.
• Proven ability to supervise audit engagements, manage audit teams and review complex financial records.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, client relationship management, problem-solving and time management.
