Field Assistant

About the role

The Field Assistant supports field operations for GMCO’s exploration projects, handling data collection, sample management and logistical coordination across diverse mining sites. The role works closely with the field team to ensure safety, accuracy and timely progress.

Key responsibilities

• Collect field data, handle samples and set up equipment.
• Assist with site logistics, scheduling and transportation coordination.
• Maintain accurate records, field notes and daily progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Support inventory management, equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and stakeholders.
• Perform data entry and basic analysis under direction.
• Adapt to changing field conditions and contribute to problem‑solving.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in mining or construction.
• High school diploma or equivalent; related coursework or certifications preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to field sites.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to operate field vehicles.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and effective communication.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with data collection tools.
• Experience with data collection software and mobile devices.
• Technical aptitude for handling sampling equipment and basic maintenance.
