Field Operator – ASU & Utilities

About the role

The position is for a Field Operator responsible for running the Air Separation Unit (ASU) and associated utilities on a new green‑hydrogen and ammonia plant in NEOM, Saudi Arabia. You will operate the main air compressor, molecular sieve adsorbers, cold box, turbo‑expander, liquid nitrogen storage, vaporizers and the nitrogen loading station, as well as the de‑mineralised water plant and cooling‑water systems.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the ASU equipment, including compressors, adsorbers, cold box, turbo‑expander and nitrogen loading station.
• Manage the de‑mineralised water plant (reverse osmosis, ion exchange, mixed‑bed polishing) that supplies the electrolyser.
• Control cooling‑water, instrument‑air and water‑treatment loops.
• Follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and permit‑to‑work systems for start‑up, shutdown and maintenance.
• Interpret process flow diagrams, P&ID, single‑line diagrams and shutdown matrices to execute safe operations.
• Participate in rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends and on‑call periods.
• Train newly arrived field operators as part of the hand‑over process.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of continuous‑process plant operation in industrial gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, fertilisers, power or water sectors.
• Hands‑on experience with lock‑out/tag‑out and permit‑to‑work practices.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and on‑call periods.
• Fluent English with a solid safety record.
• Saudi nationals are preferred for this intake.
