Field Support Specialist (Freelance / Dispatch)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Freelance Field Support Specialist to provide on‑site technical assistance when full‑time engineers are unavailable or when dispatch activities require immediate support. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting, hardware installation, and user support across Windows and Mac environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site IT support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and AV equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software according to company standards.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for IT assets.
• Handle break‑fix troubleshooting, coordinate OEM/vendor repairs, and manage escalations.
• Maintain IT inventory, asset tracking, and documentation.
• Create system images for laptops and desktops.
• Support printer and network printer setup, as well as conference‑room AV technologies.
• Provide high‑touch VIP/end‑user support and ensure SLA compliance.
• Assist with Office 365 issues, user account management, and security/compliance software.
• Support Mac devices alongside Windows systems and cover after‑hours events when needed.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and managing inventory.
• Flexibility to respond to after‑hours and event‑based support requests.

Required skills

• Desktop and laptop troubleshooting and configuration.
• Hardware installation, peripheral device support.
• Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, LAN connectivity).
• Printer and network printer setup and troubleshooting.
• Office 365 support.
• System imaging for Windows and Mac devices.
• Installation and troubleshooting of compliance/security software.
