Finance & Accounting Manager

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Finance & Accounting Manager to lead the full finance function for our Saudi operations. This is the first dedicated finance hire in Saudi Arabia for Yakan, an AI‑native fintech providing inventory financing. You will own the books, cash flow, compliance and reporting, and work directly with outsourced partners where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day bookkeeping, either in‑house or coordinated with an outsourced accounting firm.
• Design and maintain a chart of accounts, accounting policies and workflows tailored to a trading and profit‑sharing business.
• Set up, configure and administer the accounting system (Zoho Books or NetSuite), including integrations and approval workflows.
• Maintain accurate records of each asset’s cost base, funding split, holding period and disposal, and calculate related profit‑share liabilities.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi VAT, Zakat, tax regulations and ZATCA e‑invoicing requirements.
• Prepare management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to support performance management.
• Handle tax filings and regulatory compliance for the Saudi entity.

Required profile

• 7‑12 years of finance/accounting experience, able to operate end‑to‑end independently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• SOCPA registration or eligibility to register is strongly preferred.
• Recent, demonstrable experience in Saudi Arabia with practical knowledge of local VAT, Zakat/tax and ZATCA e‑invoicing.
• Solid working knowledge of IFRS as applied in Saudi Arabia.
• Experience with cloud accounting systems such as Zoho Books or NetSuite.
• Background in asset‑focused or SME environments within the GCC, preferably in a startup.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced setting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
