First Officer A320 - Dammam

About the role

The airline is looking for a First Officer to fly the Airbus A320 in Saudi Arabia, based in Dammam. The pilot flies assigned flights according to the Airline Operational Manual and civil aviation regulations, ensuring safety, security and efficiency, supporting and guiding the cabin crew, handling emergencies and taking control of the flight.

Key responsibilities

• Fly the assigned aircraft on schedule and approved flight plans, prioritising safety, efficiency and passenger comfort
• Ensure flights follow the Operations Manual and regulations, and implement procedures for safe aircraft operation
• Ensure timely attendance, grooming and fitness of self and crew, and conduct pre-flight briefings
• Liaise with co-pilots and the dispatch team on aircraft status, route, weather, fuel, weight and role distribution
• Use fuel efficiently within safety limits and carry out safety, security, fuel and transit checks
• Cooperate with maintenance engineers and seek support from MCC and MROs to fix defects
• Load accurate technical logs and documents, and keep the Operations Manual up to date and understood by the crew
• Keep up to date with legal requirements of regulators such as the civil aviation authority and Airbus, and take on ground-based safety or security roles when asked

Required profile

• ATPL licence is mandatory, plus a passing technical/psychometric assessment and medical fitness check
• Minimum 700 hours of flying, Airbus A320 preferred; low-cost airline experience highly desirable
• Formal safety and emergency response training is essential; crew resource management, airport security procedures and IATA security principles are advantages
• Knowledge of aircraft systems, operations, QA/safety/security/audit procedures and ability to handle ad-hoc scenarios under heavy workload
• Excellent written and verbal communication, technical report writing and presentations; very good English (other local languages an advantage)
