Full-Stack Geospatial Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Full‑Stack Geospatial Data Engineer to design and deliver end‑to‑end geospatial solutions that turn satellite imagery into actionable climate and environmental insights. The role is fully remote and offers the chance to work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers and researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement large‑scale satellite imagery ingestion, processing pipelines and storage architectures.
• Develop scalable backend services and geospatial APIs that expose environmental intelligence.
• Create modern frontend applications and dashboards for data visualisation using React and Next.js.
• Optimise data workflows for performance, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Automate infrastructure with CI/CD, monitoring and cloud‑native practices.
• Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to translate complex geospatial requirements into production systems.
• Lead code reviews, provide architectural guidance and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Strong full‑stack engineering experience with Python and TypeScript.
• Proven ability to build and maintain large‑scale data pipelines and distributed processing systems.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud storage, object stores and data orchestration platforms.
• Deep knowledge of geospatial technologies, GIS tools and satellite imagery processing.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerisation, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
