General Accounting Manager

About the role

The General Accounting Manager will lead the accounting function, ensuring timely supplier payments, accurate journal entries, and the preparation of reliable financial statements that support SDC’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the General Ledger, ensuring compliance with financial accounting requirements and proper posting from subsidiary ledgers such as accounts payable, fixed assets, and payroll.
• Advise on accounting activities to guarantee transactions and assets are recorded according to local and international standards.
• Implement and monitor internal controls, providing reliable historical data for management decisions.
• Prepare and manage the General Ledger budget, monitor expenditures, and reconcile variances.
• Coordinate the monthly trial balance, analyze accounts, identify discrepancies, and initiate corrective actions.
• Guide central accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate cost allocation and timely payment consolidation.
• Support project accounting by preparing financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and ensuring proper invoice documentation.
• Supervise the preparation and review of financial statements and accompanying notes for timely submission.

Required profile

• Proven experience in general accounting, ledger management, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of local and international accounting standards.
• Ability to develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with finance teams and senior management.
