General Manager – Drilling Division (COO Level)

About the role

We are a top‑3 drilling and geological services provider in Saudi Arabia, operating 21 rigs and planning rapid expansion to over 60 rigs. As General Manager – Drilling Division (COO level), you will lead all operational aspects of the division, ensuring safe, efficient and profitable drilling across the Kingdom.

Key responsibilities

• Drive execution of drilling campaigns on all rigs, delivering projects on time, within budget and to technical specifications.
• Lead the deployment of digital rig performance analytics and oversee fleet expansion.
• Own HSE performance, foster a zero‑harm culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs, spare‑parts supply and reliability initiatives to minimise downtime.
• Direct logistics, site mobilisation/demobilisation, procurement and vendor contracts.
• Oversee the division’s P&L, set budgets, improve margins and support commercial client engagements.
• Build, mentor and scale field and office teams, establishing competency and training frameworks.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in drilling, oil & gas or mining operations, including 5+ years in a senior executive role (GM, Operations Director or COO).
• Proven track record managing multi‑rig projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated P&L responsibility, budgeting and cost‑control expertise.
• Successful experience driving HSE transformations and fleet reliability programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or Mining Engineering; MBA or Master’s preferred.

Required skills

• Deep technical knowledge of rig systems and site logistics.
• Expertise in preventative maintenance strategies.
• HSE certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
• Project Management certifications (PMP) and Lean methodologies (Six Sigma).
