General Practitioner

About the role

The General Practitioner will lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based medical care for in-patients at Select Arabia Hospital. The physician is expected to model clinical excellence, supervise junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement of patient services.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, manage and treat a wide range of general health conditions for in-patients.
• Prescribe medications, order and interpret X-ray and laboratory investigations.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including medication administration and diet prescriptions.
• Document patient encounters accurately to support clinical practice and billing.
• Lead quality-improvement initiatives, audit clinical processes and respond to incidents.
• Supervise, mentor and train junior medical staff and promote continued medical education.
• Participate in clinical research, publications and stay updated with current medical literature.
• Perform on-call duties outside scheduled hours as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) and full registration to practice.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a clinical team and train junior staff.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Medical diagnosis and patient examination.
• Prescribing and managing medication therapy.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (X-ray, laboratory).
• Clinical documentation and electronic medical record use.
