General Practitioner (Resident Physician)

About the role

The General Practitioner – Resident Physician supports the Medical Review Panel (MRP) and treating teams by evaluating patients, documenting care in the EMR, and ensuring smooth inpatient and outpatient workflows at Fakeeh Care.

Key responsibilities

• Interview and assess patients, capturing comprehensive medical, medication, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional histories.
• Notify attending physicians of admitted in‑patients, discuss clinical status, and clarify required investigations and management plans.
• Conduct daily ward rounds, record findings, assessments, and care plans in progress notes.
• Respond promptly to patient complaints, coordinate with specialists, and document decisions.
• Justify and order advanced diagnostic tests (CT, MRI, ultrasound) with appropriate clinical rationale.
• Hand over patient status and pending issues to colleagues at shift change.
• Coordinate care among nurses, consultants, dietitians, social workers, labs, radiology, and insurance doctors.
• Complete required forms, transfer documents, and discharge summaries, and discuss discharge instructions with patients.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality‑and‑safety initiatives, and continuous medical education (minimum 30 CME credits per year).
• Evaluate support‑clinic patients, perform physical examinations, renew medications, and carry out other clinic duties as defined by Fakeeh Care policies.
